Job Title: Payroll Supervisor Employment Type: Contract Work Hours: 40 hrs.
/week Work site: Hybrid Location: Melville, NY Pay Rate: TBD BRIEF POSITION SUMMARY: This position is responsible for the payroll staff and processing all payrolls from start to finish in compliance with SOC-1 and tax regulations.
DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES: Supervise daily administration of weekly and bi-weekly payroll to ensure accuracy and timeliness of processing and distribution of pay.
Supervise 3-4 payroll associates.
Manage the payroll cycle from start to finish.
Establishes payroll work procedures and work schedules.
Monitor the payroll inbox and assign emails to the payroll team.
Interprets company policy and government regulations that affect payroll to ensure compliance of payroll policies and practices.
Assists internal and external auditors as well as other accounting departments with payroll related information and issues.
Maintain the weekly payroll folders to ensure all documents are in compliance with key controls.
Review all batches entered against the payroll register for accuracy.
Review all payroll batches to ensure accuracy, completion, and compliance.
Create the earnings reconciliation for every payroll processing.
Establish a preview schedule, run previews, validate, and accept the final payroll.
Analyze payroll problems and provide solutions.
Performs all duties inherent in the role of MSC Supervisor as defined in the MSC Code of Conduct including hiring, termination, review, and development of associates.
Fosters the MSC Culture in the department and throughout the company to ensure fulfillment of MSC's vision and unity of purpose.
Participation in special projects and performs additional duties as required.

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE: Associate degree required; equivalent experience may be considered in lieu of education.
Bachelor's degree preferred.
Minimum of three years or the equivalent ADP payroll experience.
A minimum of two year's supervisory experience which includes associate coaching and development is required.
SKILLS: Computer literacy and proficiency in word processing and spreadsheet software is required.
In depth knowledge of multi-state employment law as it relates to payroll is required.
Knowledge of, and experience in, supervising various payroll issues such as equity compensation, incentive plans, 401(k), stock purchase plan, stock option plan and garnishments required.
Excellent oral and written communications skills are also required.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS: A valid driver's license and the ability to travel up to 5% of the time may be required.
JOB SCHEDULE: 9am-5pm, 8:00am-4:30pm, etc. (typically 9 5pm with an hour lunch) Hybrid (3 days in office, 2 days remote)
