ABOUT THE ROLE
As a Yard Person at Dahlsens, you'll play a hands-on role in keeping our yard running smoothly and our customers happy. From unloading and organising timber to assembling and loading customer orders, you'll be involved in every step of the process to ensure accuracy, safety, and efficiency. You'll operate forklifts, maintain a clean and hazard-free yard, and occasionally hit the road to deliver orders, extending our commitment to great service beyond the gate. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys working outdoors, takes pride in their work, and thrives in a team environment where a proactive, "can-do" attitude makes all the difference.
RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE
* Safely unload, move, and handle timber and materials with care and precision.
* Accurately pick, assemble, and prepare customer orders for dispatch.
* Load customer orders onto trucks, ensuring safe weight and space distribution.
* Operate forklifts and yard equipment in line with safety procedures.
* Maintain an organised, clean, and hazard-free timber yard.
* Rack, store, and manage timber and stock for easy access and efficiency.
* Assist with deliveries and general administration tasks as required.
* Promote site safety through a hands-on, proactive, and can-do approach.
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
* Forklift Licence (mandatory).
* Drivers Licence (mandatory).
* Construction Induction White Card (mandatory).
* Previous experience in a warehouse or storage yard, equipping you with a solid foundation of knowledge and skills relevant to the position.
* Knowledge or experience working with timber products will be highly advantageous, enabling you to better understand customer needs and provide tailored assistance.
