We are recruiting to three roles, each managing a team of specialist staff within the Epidemiology and Biostatistics Unit in the Centre for Epidemiology and Evidence. The unit supports public and internal reporting, collection and analysis of population health data to informal policy and improve health outcomes for the overall community and priority populations. Our flagship public reports include the NSW Mothers and Babies Report, and vast collection of health indicators published on HealthStats NSW. The Principal Project Officer, Health Indicators and Digital Communication provides leadership and management of health indicators and digital communication activities for the Centre for Epidemiology and Evidence. The role manages a team responsible for the HealthStats NSW open data portal, supporting the design, curation, interpretation, quality control, visualisation and effective communication of health indicators and statistical information. The Principal Analyst, Maternal and Perinatal Surveillance leads a team responsible for the delivery of the online NSW Mothers and Babies report, management and governance of the Register for Congenital Conditions and NSW Perinatal Data Collection, analysis and interpretation of that data for surveillance and reporting purposes. The role actively engages with stakeholders to identify emerging issues to inform enhancement to the data assets and reports. The Principal Analyst, Population Health Analysis Services manages a team to provide high-level advice and analytical expertise for priority projects, including ad hoc and routine public and internal reports for key stakeholders. The team supports continuous improvement of data analytics processes and practices, and capability building across the Centre. Analyse and transform complex data into clear advice, evidence and insights for briefing to policy officers and Government. Govern and manage data assets to meet emerging population health information needs. Lead delivery and continuous improvement of high-quality routine data reports in digital form, considering context and interpretation by stakeholders. About You We are seeking motivated and committed individuals who can support the work of NSW Health with: Qualifications in epidemiology, biostatistics or equivalent (see role descriptions). Strong data literacy and understanding of population health and health data. Ability to communicate effectively, including statistical communication and/or digital communication.
