The Role
As a Diesel Motor Mechanic, you'll perform service, repair, and maintenance work on a range of heavy vehicles, buses, trucks, and plant equipment. You may be placed with clients maintaining public transport fleets, logistics vehicles, or agricultural and mining equipment.
Key Duties Include:
* Inspecting, diagnosing, and repairing diesel engines and mechanical components
* Performing scheduled maintenance and breakdown repairs
* Identifying faults and carrying out effective repairs to engines, transmissions, brakes, and hydraulics
* Reading and interpreting workshop manuals and technical documentation
* Maintaining accurate service records and ensuring all work meets safety standards
* Supporting apprentices and contributing to a positive team culture
Key Requirements:
* Trade qualification in Diesel Motor Mechanics, Heavy Vehicle Mechanics, or equivalent
* Proven experience in truck, bus, or heavy equipment repair and maintenance
* Proven experience in earthmoving and agricultural equipment highly desirable
* Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills
* Commitment to high-quality, safe work practices
* Willingness to relocate to regional Australia
* Ability to pass drug and alcohol testing
