The Payroll Officer ensures the prompt and accurate processing of employee payments, addresses payroll-related inquiries efficiently, and provides support to the Finance & Payroll Manager on various projects as needed. More About the Role: Work with the team to complete the timely and accurate payment of all pay runs for 3,000 employees on a weekly and fortnightly basis. Completing the end-to-end payroll process and escalating ideas to maintain the payroll system integrity, including terminations and workers compensation claims Follow the internal controls, policies and security requirements in place Interpret and adhere to industry Enterprise Agreements, awards, and NES. Do pay calculations, redundancy estimates and other calculations to ensure accuracy. Make ATO and third-party payments and resolve issues as they arise Use the time and attendance payroll module. Solid understanding of how payroll transactions are reflected in the accounting system Assist in running payroll reports for multiple stakeholders and learning how to develop reports that meet specific requirements. Maintain payroll records and ensure the accuracy and confidentiality of employee information. Perform ad-hoc tasks and other duties as directed. What We’re Looking for in the Successful Candidate: Minimum 2 years’ experience in a payroll role, accounting or payroll qualification, or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training. Experience with end-to-end payroll and terminations. Demonstrated knowledge including, complaint handling, employee relations, work, health and safety, policies and procedures, inclusion and diversity Problem-solving skills, the capacity to successfully deliver high quality outcomes and meet deadlines.
