Primary objective
Ensure provision of quality administrative support, financial management and contract administration services to the Medical Imaging
Department, Royal Darwin Palmerston Hospital (RDPH) and NT Health.
Key duties and responsibilities
1. Manage the provision of clerical and administrative support services to Medical Imaging RDPH and across NT Health.
2. Provide close scrutiny of financial aspects of major contracts involving provision of Medical Imaging Services, and the provision of
Cardiac Services to NT Health.
3. Liaise with relevant managers, both private contractors and NT Health staff, on financial and administrative matters.
4. Undertake annual financial reconciliations for medical imaging services to Katherine Hospital and Gove District Hospital.
5. Provide leadership and supervision to the team of medical administration staff in all aspects of medical imaging administrative support
including patient reception, booking of procedures and diagnostic imaging reporting.
6. Manage a range of public enquiries, via digital means and face-to-face, and liaise with other health professionals and organisations as
required.
7. Co-ordinate distribution of support staff to a variety of areas of the Medical Imaging Department to provide a full range of support
functions to medical imaging staff, ensuring efficient functioning of the department.
8. Follow defined departmental service quality standards, infection control protocols, and Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) policies
and procedures to ensure a safe workplace for staff and patients.
9. Foster a positive workplace culture through exemplary leadership practices and role modelling behaviour.
Selection criteria
Essential
1. Extensive knowledge of information and accounting systems, contract management, legislative and policy requirements and proven
ability to interpret and apply in a complex service delivery environment, preferably medical imaging or health.
2. A sound understanding of Medicare rules relating to the provision of medical imaging services.
3. Transferable skills in managing a large team and multi-faceted office setting, incorporating the coordination of staff, resources, and
administrative functions to ensure a productive, cohesive, and well-organised workplace.
4. Demonstrated well-developed human resource management capabilities, including effective staff orientation management,
performance management and support, fostering a productive and collaborative team focused work environment.
5. Knowledge of NT Health Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS) and Radiology Information System (RIS) network and
its application to medical imaging or similar
6. Proven interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to function in a discrete, confidential and polite manner within a diverse
cross cultural work team environment.
7. Proven ability to effectively consult and collaborate with a wide range of professionals and communicate technical and complex issues
patiently and in plain language.

1. Qualifications in accounting.
