The Baker - Part Time is responsible for preparing and baking a high-volume of bakery product according to standardized procedures. They will assist in other departments as needed, following proper safety and sanitation standards. Providing prompt and courteous customer service is also an essential part of this role.
Key Responsibilities
* Scales and combines ingredients using power equipment to prepare various types of baked goods.
* Rolls, cuts, and shapes products using various kitchen instruments when preparing scratch and frozen items.
* Dates ingredients, products, and stores them for future use.
* Uses and monitors proof-box, setting temperature, humidity, and timers.
* Uses and monitors gas fired rack ovens, setting temperature, and timers. Removes rack of baked product from oven for cooling.
* Follows production sheets for Order of Production.
* Follows Standard Sanitation Operating Procedure (SSOP) guidelines as it refers to proper cleaning and sanitation of all equipment required by this position.
* Completes and complies with quality assurance, food safety certification, and all safety training required by warehouse and Bakery Department.
* Assists with other Bakery duties as needed. Assists in other departments of the warehouse as necessary.
* Provides prompt and courteous customer service to members, employees, and suppliers.
* Assists in teaching apprentices and trade assistants as per SOP, including other areas of the Bakery such as wrapping or cake decorating.

Education/Training
