We are seeking a Lecturer in Sport Management to join the Department of Management and Marketing. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing and delivering lectures, tutorials, and workshops, as well as assessing students across both on-campus and online learning environments. You will contribute to the development and continuous improvement of academic programs in Sport Management, working collaboratively with academic colleagues to drive innovation in curriculum design. You will also provide academic mentoring and guidance to students, and may supervise honours, master’s, and PhD research projects.
The successful candidate will play a key role in strengthening the Sport Innovation Research Group (SIRG) and enhancing the School\'s research performance by increasing research output, securing external funding, and generating real-world impact. You will actively engage with industry partners, incorporating their perspectives into teaching, and securing and delivering research contracts. Proficiency in both quantitative and qualitative research methods is essential, with expertise in tools such as SPSS, SmartPLS, NVivo, Python, and R. Experience applying artificial intelligence tools in teaching and research is highly desirable.
In addition to teaching and research responsibilities, you will undertake administrative duties related to your role and contribute to broader School management and governance activities. You will also be expected to support and expand partnerships with government, industry, community organisations, and professional bodies both within Australia and internationally. About You
To be suitable for this role you will need to have experience in the below key accountabilities:
- Domain knowledge of sport and leisure, including commercial operations, participant and consumer experience, behaviour, management, and outcomes
- Demonstrated ability to undertake teaching, associated administrative duties, coordination and curriculum development at both the undergraduate and postgraduate levels. In particular, demonstrated ability to teach in the relevant business discipline
- Demonstrated commitment to leading edge/best practice education, including blended learning formats, online teaching and the use of case studies, role-plays and/or simulations in the learning environment
- Demonstrated commitment to research in the university context, a capacity in the use of a variety of research methods and a track record of publishing in discipline relevant quality academic journals

Qualifications
An earned doctoral qualification in the relevant discipline or a related field.
