Administration Officer – Property Access


This role is responsible for acquiring access for contract survey teams to access private property by seeking landholder permission. (Please note: actual job title: Technical Assistant, Property Access)


Key accountabilities:
* Search for rural property ownership details online for sites identified for survey and acquire land ownership details
* Contact owners by phone, requesting access permission and visitation details.
* Maintain a database of contacts
* Respond to the need of in-field contract survey teams regarding access permission.
* Assist with desktop analysis of survey locations and survey information.
* Work collaboratively with a range of specialists and other mapping group scientists to ensure the application of best practice science.
Key challenges
* Tracking and managing property access
* Sourcing private access permissions in sufficient numbers for contractors to enable representative sampling.
* Practical difficulties with identifying and contracting property owners.
Selection criteria:
* Excellent communication skills with a focus on communicating effectively with rural landholders. In particular, very good telephone communication skills.
* Adept at computer operation and basic computer business applications.
* Beneficial: Knowledge of agricultural-related issues and liaison with rural communities.
* Demonstrated experience organising lists and data.
