About the Project:
RAAF Base Darwin is one of the Air Force's main forward operating bases. The Mid-Term Refresh Project will provide Base Support Infrastructure improvements at RAAF Darwin to support the sustained operation of the Base. The Project will develop and deliver new main and heavy vehicle entrances along with support civil and infrastructure works. It will also replace the potable water, fire water, and sewer reticulation networks on the Base.
In December 2024, Defence awarded Laing O'Rourke as the Managing Contractor for the delivery of the project with Construction forecast to be completed by mid-2027.
About the role
We are currently seeking a Planning and Project Controls Manager to join us on the project in Darwin, NT. This role will support in the development and implementation of project strategy for planning, delivering the optimum delivery methodology and the coordination of resources.
Key responsibilities
* Execute time-related issues in the contract
* Develop Programmes throughout all project stages
* Integrate 3D CAD models and programmes
* Maintain programme and other time related material that ensure that the sequence and timing of all operations considered/optimised for the successful project completion within the required time constraints
* Understand, communicate the sequence of activities that are critical for the delivery of the project; and the consequences of not completing other planned activities
* Implementation of robust Project Controls and accurate reporting and forecasting
About you
* Degree or equivalent in an Engineering- or Construction-related discipline
* Good communicator – verbal and written
* Problem solving capabilities, communication skills, team player
* Microsoft office, Navisworks, PRISMG2 and Primavera P6.
