Patch Personnel have partnered with a Leading Producer in Chemical Processing to source an Electrical and Instrumentation Engineer (Instrumentation Focus) to join their busy team.

This position represents a career-changing opportunity to work with a stable team in operational facilities within the chemical manufacturing sector.

The Electrical and Instrumentation Engineer reports to the Electrical and Instrumentation Lead and will provide specialist instrumentation, process control, and automation expertise to support operational reliability, plant performance, and compliance across a complex manufacturing facility.

This is a permanent staff position based in Regional Queensland. Relocation support is offered along with an attractive salary package.

Key Capabilities of the successful Electrical and Instrumentation Engineer include, though are not limited to:

* Instrumentation, process control, automation, and hazardous area compliance.
* Electrical and instrumentation design, HV and LV protection systems.
* Risk assessment, asset management, project management, and performance monitoring.
* Knowledge of Australian regulations, industry standards, and statutory engineering requirements.
* Technical document development and contractor supervision.
* Troubleshooting and root cause analysis for instrumentation and plant performance issues.
* Ability to support major shutdowns, capital projects, and provide technical assistance during planned and unplanned events.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Ability to influence outcomes and resolve technical problems through collaboration and innovation.
* Highly organised, proactive, and able to work in a fast-paced environment.
* Strong teamwork, adaptability, attention to detail, and professional integrity.

About you

It is essential to success in this position to be degree-qualified in Instrumentation / Electrical Engineering, with a strong experience in Instrumentation.

A minimum of 2 years' experience in chemical manufacturing or a similar industry, and at least 5 years in a directly aligned industry.

You will be self-motivated, able to work across corporate and operational teams, and committed to managing your responsibilities with initiative and professionalism.

A Chartered Engineer qualification or Registered Professional Engineer of Queensland (RPEQ) status is not essential, though highly regarded. It is considered essential that the successful candidate be dedicated to their professional development and work to undertake this as is professional viable.
