About the role:
We are seeking an Aircraft Maintenance Engineer to step into the role of Facilities and Equipment Maintenance Fitter (FEMF).
In this role, you will be responsible for the day-to-day maintenance and improvement of Aviation Australia facilities and aviation training equipment. The role also manages the procurement of parts, tools, and materials for routine maintenance and custom equipment fabrication to support our training facility, in addition to carrying out general equipment maintenance and related tasks.
This part‑time position is perfect for someone wanting to use their practical and leadership skills in an environment that offers flexible working hours.
Is this role for you?
Our ideal candidate will have the following:
* A minimum Certificate IV Aeroskills or higher-level qualification, plus
* 2-3 years' hands-on mechanical fitter experience, along with a restricted electrical work licence will be highly regarded.
* Structural welding experience in MIG/TIG Ferrous and Non-Ferrous metals.
* Electronics and/or PLC experience.
* Drivers licence essential.
* Forklift licence essential or can obtain this
* Preparedness to undertake training as required.
* Strong organisational skills with the capacity to prioritise work, deal with competing demands and manage time effectively.
* Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills, with strong written and oral communication skills.
* Highly motivated with a proactive attitude and a genuine desire to solve problems.
