Occupational Hygienist
5 Sticks Consulting is a rapidly expanding consultancy providing occupational hygiene, health & safety services across a wide variety of industries. We are currently looking for a full time Occupational Hygienist based in Townsville QLD to join our operations.
Responsibilities
* Work independently but effectively in a cross-functional team
* Be willing to undertake site-based remote work (includes regular periods of work away)
* Measure and assess occupational exposure to hazards in the workplace including environmental factors and stresses, chemical hazards, physical hazards, ergonomic or biological hazards
* Develop monitoring strategies and survey sampling plans
* Perform onsite task and field observations during occupational hygiene surveys
* Collect and record accurate data during occupational hygiene surveys
* Complete data analysis and technical report writing
* Provide technical support in the design and implementation of risk control improvements
* Conduct ad-hoc campaign pieces such as respirator fit testing, noise surveys, vibration assessments etc. as required
* Communicate relevant occupational hygiene information to technical and non-technical personnel
* Assist with training and development of Occupational Hygiene Technicians
Desired Skills and Qualifications
* A minimum of five (5) years experience in the Occupational Hygiene field
* Registration / Certification as an Occupational Hygienist by a national governing body
* A current Coal Board Medical (or ability to attain same), including Covid vaccination
* Current driver’s license
* A demonstrated ability to develop and maintain strong working relationships with high level clients
* The ability and willingness to manage a split between office and site-based work, which includes some time away from home
* Competent computer skills in Microsoft, including Word and Excel
* Excellent written communication and report writing skills
* Excellent time management and organisational skills
* Project management skills
* The ability to work well either independently or in a team environment
* The ability to communicate information to both technical and non technical personnel
