Our client is a locally owned engineering company established in 2005, with operations strategically located across Mackay, Emerald, Proserpine, and Townsville. Your new role
* Fabrication and welding of metal components using techniques such as FCAW (Flux-Cored Arc Welding), often to 3G/4G standards.
* Reading and interpreting technical drawings and blueprints to ensure accurate construction and assembly.
* Operating workshop machinery including presses, rollers, and cutting tools to shape and prepare metal parts.
* Assembling structural components and ensuring they meet quality and safety standards.
* Conducting repairs and maintenance on existing metal structures or equipment.
* Collaborating with team members including fitters, machinists, and supervisors to complete projects efficiently.
* Maintaining a clean and safe work environment, adhering to workplace health and safety protocols.
What you'll need to succeed
* Boilermaker Trade Certificate
* Current Drivers Licence
* Previous experience in heavy engineering
* Ability to complete a weld test
* Ability to pass a pre-employment medical with a D&A screen
* Be living in the Mackay Region
* Have contactable references
What you'll get in return
In return, you will be working in a Paget workshop, working on a Monday to Friday basis. You will be working approx 8 - 10 hours per shift, and you will be working in a team environment. In this position, you will be paid $60.00 flat per hour + super on all hours worked and receive a weekly pay. There is an opportunity to transition into a full-time role with our client if you're the right fit for the workshop.
