Offer description

Melbourne Park is the home of iconic sporting and entertainment events – from the Australian Open to global superstars like Beyoncé, Queen, and Bruce Springsteen. Hosting millions of visitors every year across venues including Rod Laver Arena, John Cain Arena, Margaret Court Arena, AAMI Park, CENTREPIECE, and Kia Arena, Melbourne Park is one of the world’s most exciting precincts.

The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to take ownership of a new project occurring within the precinct. As part of a professional team managing projects, you’ll lead day‑to‑day delivery across design, procurement, construction, and project close‑out, ensuring milestones are achieved while balancing the operational needs of a world‑class event precinct. The initial project will involve delivering civil infrastructure and built form elements whilst repositioning this area of the precinct for further growth.

Coordinating consultants, contractors, and approvals, you will manage the risk register, budget, and delivery schedule, providing clear reporting to governance groups. You will also manage a Project Coordinator who will assist with scheduling, documentation, and stakeholder communication.

This is a unique opportunity to deliver a significant project in one of Melbourne’s most energetic environments.

The successful candidate will be engaged and employed on a two‑year, full‑time, fixed‑term employment contract.

- Ideally experience in managing both civil infrastructure and built form elements of new projects.
- Experience leading design development, resolving coordination challenges, and ensuring technical excellence.
- Sound knowledge of procurement frameworks, contract administration, and project governance.
- Strong contractor management skills, including safety, quality, and program oversight.
- Expertise in stakeholder engagement, building trust across diverse and sometimes competing interests.
- Strong financial tracking and reporting capability, including budget forecasting and claims administration.
- The ability to thrive in a live operational environment, balancing delivery with major sporting and entertainment schedules.

Why Join Melbourne Park?

- Health & Wellbeing Program – initiatives that support your physical and mental health.
- Professional development through cross‑functional projects and growth opportunities.
- Tickets 2 U Program – enjoy world‑class events hosted onsite.
- Employee Assistance Program in partnership with Sonder.
- A vibrant workplace culture with regular team events and engagement activities.
