Expert rolling stock maintenance professional

Offer description

Electrical Engineers are required for a rolling stock maintenance project.

* This is a 4-6 month contract with the possibility of extension.

The responsibilities will include:

* Providing technical advice and support for the maintenance and operation of the rolling stock fleet.
* Familiarising yourself with the relevant standards, legislation, and business requirements to develop manuals and procedures for the maintenance and operation of the rolling stock.
* Completing engineering investigations to improve the reliability and performance of the rolling stock and associated equipment.
* Developing scopes of work, specifications, instructions, design drawings, and other documents to required standards in relation to rolling stock component reliability while reducing maintenance costs.
* Managing safety, reliability, and cost improvement projects in relation to rolling stock modifications, overhauls, and general maintenance.
* Investigating new technologies and developing electrical systems to enhance the safety and reliability of the rolling stock fleet.
* Conducting quality audits on rolling stock maintenance procedures and practices in accordance with established standards.
* Mentoring and coaching junior engineers to maximise team performance.

Requirements include:

* Possession of formal qualifications in engineering (ideally Bachelor of Engineering - Electrical) or a postgraduate qualification in an appropriate discipline.
* Extensive knowledge of the technical operation, maintenance requirements, servicing, and repair of rolling stock and associated equipment.
* High level of skill in carrying out rolling stock fault-finding investigations, computer-based testing equipment, component failure analysis, and trial modifications.
* High level of skill in developing and continuously improving electrical systems, strategies, scopes of work, and modifications to improve rolling stock performance, reliability, safety, and cost.
* High level of communication, consultation, negotiation, and engagement skills with internal and external stakeholders and suppliers.
