The role
CBCity is seeking a Graduate Civil Engineer to join our team and assist with the delivery of Capital Works and Infrastructure projects. You will gain hands-on experience undertaking site investigations, preparing tenders, and assisting with contract documentation, all in line with Council's standards, policies and procedures. This is a Temporary Full-Time opportunity, commencing January 2026 for a two-year term.
Responsibilities
* Assist Project Managers in coordinating civil infrastructure projects from start to finish.
* Conduct site inspections and prepare progress reports ensuring compliance with design, safety, and quality standards.
* Support procurement processes, including preparing documents and participating in tender evaluations.
* Assist with contract administration, monitoring contractor performance, processing variations, and maintaining records.
* Prepare cost and schedule updates for project reporting.
* Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to support effective project delivery.
* Ensure projects comply with relevant legislation, standards, and Council policies.

Qualifications
* A tertiary qualification in Civil Engineering recognised by Engineers Australia.
* A Class C Driver's Licence.
* A WHS Construction Induction (White Card).
* Relevant work placement, internship, or industry experience in civil construction or infrastructure delivery.
* Knowledge of civil engineering principles, standards, and design codes.
* Ability to work effectively in a team and contribute to shared outcomes.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills for preparing clear technical documents.
* Practical problem-solving skills applied in engineering contexts.
Desirable
* Experience in civil construction or local government.
* Familiarity with project management and contract administration.
* Exposure to engineering software and ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
Salary and Benefits
The salary range for this opportunity starts at $71,820 (Grade D, Step 1) + 12% Super.
Salary is negotiable dependent on skills and experience.
