Our organisation, Community Consulting Australia are managing an exciting recruitment project for a new Youth, Sports and Recreation Program based across Central Australia.
Our client delivers community services which respond to the needs and aspirations of their local communities in remote Central Australia. They have recently been awarded the contract to deliver Youth, Sports and Recreation services (YSR) across the remote communities of Yuendumu, Lajamanu, Willowra and Nyirripi and have existing community programs in place in Yuelamu, Laramba, Atitjere, Ti Tree and Engawala.
As Practice Lead you will be responsible for the case management of complex clientele and overseeing the implementation and management of case work within all Youth and Community Safety programs across the Central Desert portfolio.
The successful candidate will provide group training, supervision and reflective case discussions for the Youth and Communities’ program leaders and employees based in remote communities, along with coaching, mentoring and nurturing your team.
You will have a proficient understanding of models of practice, trauma-informed care, safety planning, and strengths-based practice. In addition, you will assume responsibility of building and managing a network of service providers, community leaders and government agencies, including the respective Local Authorities within these remote communities.
To be considered for this opportunity you must hold a degree level qualification in either Social work, Psychology, Youth Services or Community Services and have extensive ‘hands on’ practical experience delivering successful outcomes within complex cultural settings. Candidates with awareness and experience of the determinants of health and socio-economic factors affecting Aboriginal youth, people and families in remote locations will be held in high regard.
You will lead from the front, have excellent communication and analytical skills and a collaborative, supportive approach, with the ability to influence and negotiate across all levels within the organisation.
