The primary purpose of this position is to provide a high level of administrative support
to the Community & Economic Outcomes Branch. The role provides effective internal
and external quality customer service and contributes to the implementation and
development of administrative processes and systems.

**Key Internal Relationships**:Key contacts across the organization (Managers
and Program Leaders) involved in Asset
Management, Liaison with other staff at all levels
of the organisation.

**Key External Relationships**:Residents, ratepayers, contractors, Roads &
Maritime Services, community groups and the
general public

**WORKING ENVIRONMENT**

The City and Community Outcomes Directorate leads the development and
implementation of the strategic direction, policy and standards for the City of the Blue
Mountain’s community, and its environment, economy, culture and infrastructure. It
does this through the provision of a wide range of programs and services for the benefit
and well-being of the Blue Mountains community, as well as through strategic asset
management and the delivery of capital improvements and major projects across the
City.

The City & Community Outcomes Directorate has the following four functional areas:

- **Community & Economic Outcomes Branch - **City Planning, Community &
Facilities Planning, Economic Outcomes, Community Development, Recreation
& Facilities Management and Property & Investment
- **Environment & Culture Branch -** Environmental Planning & Assessment,

Natural Areas Management, Bushfire & Emergency Management, Waste &
Sustainability, Culture & Heritage and Healthy Waterways
- **Infrastructure & Strategic Assets Branch - **Strategic Asset Management,

Infrastructure Planning, Design & Survey and City Projects
- **Strategic Outcomes & Projects Branch - **Strategy, Business Management,

Project Management Office & Knowledge Management.
The Directorate operates within a dynamic and responsive working environment that
revolves around the requirements of the Council, councillors, other agencies and the
community. It also works closely with the other Directorates and Groups within the
organisation - Development and Customer Services, City Services, Integrated Planning
and Finance and People and Systems, as well as the Office of the General Manager.

**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**

This position is responsible for
- Contribute to help Council deliver its sustainability goals.
- Providing quality and effective customer service and answering a broad range of

complex enquiries.
- Providing specialised and general Administration support directly to a Manager,

or in guiding and developing work activities or systems.
- Preparing written responses to a wide range of enquiries, some of which may be

complex, using research techniques.
- Preparing and presenting straightforward reports, documents and overheads.
- Liaising with staff at all levels, management, and other key customers and

contacts to coordinate and follow-up on a range of activities.
- Monitoring and providing feedback on the Branch budget/business plan.
- Analysing and reporting on statistical and other information.
- Guiding and leading project activities within the Branch/Group and/or coaching

and developing staff.
- Demonstrating commitment to continuous improvement.
