Accountant – Payroll & Reporting (Part-Time, 1 Day per Week)
The Australian Multicultural Community Centre (AUSMCC) is seeking a skilled and reliable Accountant to join our team on a part-time basis (1 day per week). This role is ideal for an experienced accounting professional looking to make a meaningful impact while maintaining work-life balance.
About the Role
You will manage fortnightly payroll, prepare financial and compliance reports for funding bodies, and ensure all BAS and taxation obligations are met accurately and on time. Working closely with the Director and management team, you'll help maintain efficient financial processes and compliance across the organisation.
Key Responsibilities
Process fortnightly payroll accurately and punctually.
Prepare and submit financial reports to funding bodies.
Manage BAS (Business Activity Statements) preparation and lodgement.
Reconcile accounts and maintain employee leave and entitlement records.
Ensure compliance with taxation, superannuation, and reporting requirements.
Support general accounting and administrative functions as needed.
Collaborate with management to strengthen financial systems and controls.
Key Skills & Qualifications
Minimum 3 years' accounting experience in Australia.
Proficient in MYOB, Xero, or QuickBooks.
Experience with payroll, BAS, and financial reporting.
Understanding of compliance requirements for funding bodies and regulators.
Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
Ability to work independently and in a hybrid environment.
Reporting: Reports directly to the Director.
