About the Role
As the Youth Justice Coordinator, you will lead HOPE's bail facility in Hedland and oversee the Youth Justice Community Mentoring Program (where applicable).
Reporting to the Justice and Community Manager Pilbara/Kimberley, you will manage day-to-day service delivery, lead a team of Residential Support Workers and Youth Mentors, and ensure young people on bail receive safe, structured, and supportive care.
This role combines leadership, stakeholder engagement, and operational oversight, while ensuring strong data integrity, reporting compliance, and culturally secure, trauma-informed practice.

Key Responsibilities
As the Youth Justice Coordinator, you will:
Service Delivery
* Oversee the daily operations of the bail facility
* Ensure a safe, structured, and homely environment for young people
* Develop and coordinate individualised programs and support plans
* Support young people with complex needs, including AOD, mental health, and behavioural challenges
* Maintain a small caseload (if required)
* Lead, supervise, and support Residential Support Workers and Youth Mentors
* Manage recruitment, rosters, leave, and performance reviews
* Build a positive, culturally secure, and accountable team culture
Program Coordination & Partnerships
* Liaise with Youth Justice Services (YJS) on referrals, entry, and exit
* Coordinate community mentoring referrals and partner agency engagement
* Build strong relationships with Aboriginal organisations and local stakeholders
* Lead partnership meetings and contribute to service collaboration
Reporting and Administration
* Ensure accurate data entry and case management in CMS
* Oversee reporting requirements, including incident reports and funder reporting
* Manage program budgets, timesheets, and facility records
* Ensure compliance with contractual and organisational requirements
Quality, Safety and Improvement
* Ensure services are delivered in line with HOPE policies and standards
* Support culturally secure and trauma-informed practice
* Participate in continuous improvement, audits, and governance activities
What You'll Need
* Relevant qualification in Youth Work, Social Work, Psychology, AOD, Mental Health, or related field (or equivalent experience)
* Demonstrated experience leading teams and managing service delivery
* Strong communication, administration, and reporting skills
* Experience working with young people with complex and challenging behaviours
* Ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders and community
* Experience working in culturally appropriate ways, particularly with Aboriginal communities
* Strong problem-solving skills and ability to manage challenging situations
* Commitment to HOPE's values and culturally secure practice
* Experience in Youth Justice, AOD, or Mental Health sectors
* Knowledge of trauma-informed practice and FASD
* Experience working therapeutically with young people
