A local government department are seeking an Assistant Accountant on a permanent basis to join their close knit finance team. A great opportunity for career progression!
Key Responsibilities:
* Assist in the preparation of financial reports, budgets, and forecasts.
* Reconcile accounts and ensure accuracy in financial records.
* Assist with maintenance of Council’s managed investment portfolio.
* Collaborate with internal departments to provide financial support and analysis.
* Contribute to the development and implementation of financial policies and procedures.
* Stay updated on relevant accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
Requirements:
* Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
* Proven experience in accounting or financial management.
* Strong proficiency with Excel.
* Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
* Ability to communicate effectively and work collaboratively in a team environment.
* Attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
* Previous experience within local government.
