About the Role:
Join Curtin School of Population Health as a Scientific Project Manager and Editor (official title: Program Manager) for the Murujuga Rock Art Monitoring Project. This is a part-time (0.8 FTE, 4 days per week*), two-year contract opportunity where you will play a key role in overseeing program management, financial operations, and quality assurance for a project of significant impact.
You will also be responsible for managing program resourcing and budgets, liaising with stakeholders to ensure deliverables are met and deliverable (document) control, quality assurance and scientific editing. The role may involve providing leadership and guidance to staff, monitoring and evaluating program performance, and supporting the success of the Murujuga Rock Art Monitoring Project.
*Please note, the successful candidate may occasionally be required to work full-time hours for certain weeks, depending on operational needs.
Selection Criteria:
1. Postgraduate qualifications (ideally in air quality, geology or chemistry) and extensive relevant experience; or extensive relevant experience and expertise, or an equivalent combination of relevant work experience and/or education/training.
2. Demonstrated management skills with the ability to develop, implement and manage program plans to achieve desired outcomes within budget and resourcing constraints and a high level of attention to detail.
3. Demonstrated high-level interpersonal and oral communication skills with the ability to consult and liaise effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders and with cross-cultural sensitivity.
4. Demonstrated high-level written communication skills with the ability to construct clear and concise project reports.
5. Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple and often competing tasks with attention to accuracy and detail within deadlines.
6. Proven ability to work effectively with a cross-functional team, including the capacity to supervise and manage other staff.
7. Demonstrated critical analysis skills with the ability to exercise sound judgment in decision-making.
Desirable
* Previous experience in a tertiary environment.
* Document control and QA/QC experience
Role Requirements:
* As this is a fixed-term contract, you will require current work rights in Australia that match the tenure of this role.
