Gladstone Region Aboriginal and Islander Community Controlled Health Service Limited ("GRAICCHS") trading as Nhulundu Health Service is an Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Service operating in Gladstone and the greater Central Queensland Region delivering a comprehensive range of primary health care, aged care and community support service functions.GRAICCHS mission is that all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Community members, and the community as a whole, have the right to access equitable and high-quality health care, regardless of culture, ethnicity or where they live.Job DescriptionAbout the position:As Foster and Kinship Care Coordinator, you will work alongside our Family Wellbeing and Corporate Services teams to provide practical services and support to the community.
Your responsibilities will include:Building and maintaining professional relationships with colleagues, government departments, partner organisations, and community stakeholders to support effective service deliveryMaintaining confidentiality of all information relating to children, families, and other agencies in line with privacy legislationPresenting professionally and communicating clearly, courteously and accurately in all interactions.Undertaking assessments and re-assessments of Carers, ensuring recommendations align with cultural, legislative, and child safety standards.Participating in foster and kinship care panels, providing informed recommendations on placement suitability and outcomes.Demonstrating cultural competence and trauma-informed practice, particularly when working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and vulnerable families.Delivering services within required legislative timeframes and contributing to team-based responses to sensitive and confidential client matters.Maintaining accurate and secure client records, reports, and program documentation to support compliance and quality assurance.Engaging in ongoing professional development and reflective supervision to enhance practice and service outcomes.Supporting continuous improvement by contributing to program development, service planning, and practice refinementDesired Skills and ExperienceAbout you:To be successful in this position, we are seeking an individual which possess the following:Certificate IV in Child, Youth and Family InterventionSound knowledge of Foster and Kinship Care services, and the ability to provide information and advice to potential Carers, family and community regarding out-of-home care.Experience with the child protection systemHigh level ability to communicate with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people effectively and with sensitivityAbility to advocate for the best interest of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people in a variety of forumsExcellent written and oral communication skills, including the ability to consult, negotiate and liaise with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families, community groups and organisations, and relevant Government departmentsBlue Card (Working with Children Check)Meet LCS2 requirementsPossession of a "C" Class drivers licenceNational Criminal History/Police Clearance
