The Role:
This is a newly created opportunity, offered as an initial 6-month contract to support an established HR team during a period of increased workload. You will play a key role in delivering accurate, timely HR advice and supporting day-to-day operations, with a strong focus on stakeholder engagement.
This role is based in Canberra, however high-performing APS5's from other Capital cities may be considered.
Please note a minimum requirement for this position is a current security clearance.
Duties:
* Manage a high-volume HR inbox, triaging and responding to enquiries
* Provide advice on HR policies, procedures, and enterprise agreement interpretation
* Support stakeholders across the agency with generalist HR queries
* Assist with employee lifecycle matters including onboarding, movements and separations
* Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with APS frameworks
* Contribute to a collaborative and responsive HR team environment
Skills and Experience:
* Previous APS experience at the APS4 or APS5 level within HR (essential)
* Strong understanding of APS enterprise agreements and relevant legislation
* Demonstrated experience providing HR advice in a fast-paced environment
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Ability to manage competing priorities and high-volume workloads
