Fashion Thrift Society is expanding, and we're looking for a highly capable Senior Event Coordinator to join our growing national events team.

This is not an entry‐level coordination role. This is a leadership position for someone who can take ownership, manage teams on the ground, and ensure our large‐scale fashion markets run seamlessly.

Based out of our Melbourne HQ, you will report directly to Event Management and play a critical role in planning, executing, and delivering high‐volume events that attract thousands of attendees across Australia. You will oversee Event Coordinators and Assistants on event days, ensuring every department is aligned, briefed, and operating efficiently.

This role requires someone independent, proactive, and highly organised — someone who doesn't wait to be told what to do, but actively identifies priorities and drives outcomes.

Following a 6‐month probation period, you will have the opportunity to lead and run select events autonomously with a small team reporting to you.

Prior event experience is essential. We're looking for someone who has already worked across markets, festivals, expos, brand activations, or large‐scale events and is ready to step into a senior leadership position.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
* Lead the planning, preparation, and execution of FTS events nationally
* Own event timelines, production schedules, and operational checklists
* Create and manage vendor packs, floorplans, run sheets, and bump‐in schedules
* Liaise confidently with venues, stallholders, contractors, suppliers, and internal teams
* Oversee compliance, safety, and operational standards
* Manage and direct Event Coordinators and Assistants on event days
* Delegate responsibilities clearly and ensure team accountability
* Provide leadership on‐site, maintaining calm, structure, and efficiency
* Act as second‐in‐command to Event Management
ON‐SITE EXECUTION
* Lead bump‐in and bump‐out processes
* Oversee site‐wide communication via radios and run sheets
* Troubleshoot issues in real time and implement fast solutions
* Ensure styling, signage, installations, and creative brand moments are executed to standard
* Maintain overall event flow and customer experience
TRAVEL

Travel approximately 2 weekends per month nationally (all flights, accommodation, and meals covered).

YOU'LL THRIVE IN THIS ROLE IF YOU:
* Have 2+ years experience in event coordination or event production
* Have previously led teams or managed staff on‐site
* Are confident running events without constant supervision
* Naturally identify gaps and solve problems before they escape
* Are highly organised and process‐driven
* Communicate clearly, assertively, and professionally
* Stay calm and solutions‐focused under pressure
* Enjoy working in a fast‐paced, hands‐on environment
* Are available for regular weekend work and interstate travel
* Hold current Australian work rights and have a drivers license
