We have recently completed our high-level vision to become Australia’s favourite digital bank, building on our exceptional foundations of over 100 years in banking.The strategy team oversees the ongoing development of the Bankwest strategy by advising and facilitating the Bankwest leadership team discussions. Furthermore, as part of CBA Group, the team prepares materials for the CBA Executive Leadership Team and the Board; and collaborate on projects with leaders across the Retail Bank and the Group. Bankwest is an integral part of the CBA’s strategy to better meet customer needs in an ever-evolving retail banking landscape. Functionally, there are three parts to the team:Strategy: Corporate strategy team helping drive the strategic direction and choices for BankwestPortfolio: Prioritization and ongoing tracking of portfolio performance and health in achieving strategic objectives of BankwestGovernance: Ownership of secretariat and governance activities for the Managing Director of Bankwest and Bankwest Leadership Team forums.This role will support the work of both the Strategy and Portfolio parts of the team.Do work that matters:The Senior Manager role will report directly to the Executive Manager for Strategy, Portfolio and Governance. The successful candidate will be leading and contributing to multiple business partnership projects within Bankwest. The successful applicant will not have direct report, but will support the broader junior team members with their career development.Key responsibilities include:Working closely with other Bankwest leaders, strategy, and delivery teams across Group and Bankwest to ensure there is alignmentEngaging other teams across Bankwest and the Group to keep abreast of their strategic agenda and be aware of interdependenciesTaking ownership of work streams/ projects end to end, and independently manage deliverablesSupporting the annual investment portfolio planning process for Bankwest, including how we track and realise value from our investment in strategic areas of focusIdentifying roadblocks or dependencies, which could impact specific work stream / projects and resolve/ escalate to your manager as requiredContributing to formal papers for both the CBA Board and Retail Leadership Team, and Bankwest Leadership TeamAnalysing information and structure it clearly and concisely for stakeholders to understand and make informed decisionsWe’re interested in hearing from people who have:At least 3-4 years business experience, preferably within Financial ServicesBachelor degree in business, economics, science, design, engineering, psychology or similar fieldsConsulting experience with a top tier firm OR Strategy experience within a Financial Services firm would be highly regardedSolid understanding of the Retail Banking industryAbility to project manage, work independently and manage upwardsExcellent strategic thinking skills, including a structured approach to problem solvingExperience within product advantageousWe are open to both Perth and Sydney based candidatesIf this sounds like you, apply now!Who We AreWe're on a mission to become Australia's favourite digital bank.
