About the School
At Mount Larcom State School, flexibility and the ability to build strong, respectful relationships with students are absolutely essential. As a small rural P‐10 school, we value teachers who are proactive, relational, and adaptable – those who can meet students at their point of need, manage multi‐age classrooms effectively, and maintain high expectations while fostering a supportive learning environment.
Mount Larcom is a close‐knit rural community located just 40 minutes from Gladstone and an hour from Rockhampton, offering a peaceful lifestyle with strong community ties. Our school has modern facilities, a supportive P‐10 structure, and a leadership team that is visible, consistent, and values‐driven. We are not a BYOD school, and all resources are supplied to students, which simplifies classroom tech integration. There is currently no Deputy Principal, so teachers work closely with the Principal and Heads of Department, creating an open and collaborative leadership environment. Staff wellbeing is a priority – leadership is proactive in supporting teachers through coaching, flexible problem‐solving, and WHS support systems.
