Explanation: This role involves overseeing and guiding the tasks performed by frontline workers. The supervisor ensures that day-to-day operations run smoothly, managing resources and schedules to meet short to medium-term goals. The Field supervisor should be planning day-to-day activities but planning 1-3 months ahead.

Work Location:
This role is based at The Glenburgh project; however, it is expected to oversee work on all Benz mining Exploration Projects including the Egerton project.
Position Overview / Purpose
The Field Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily field operations across Benz Mining's exploration sites, ensuring all activities are delivered safely, efficiently, and in alignment with environmental and operational standards. As the primary in-field leadership presence, the Field Supervisor provides direction, adjusts resources to meet site requirements, and actively develops, mentors, and supports field personnel to strengthen overall team capability.
Working closely with the Geology team, the Field Supervisor ensures operational readiness and alignment with project priorities by planning tasks ahead of schedule, verifying work quality, and ensuring all activities are checked, documented, and signed off to required standards. The role also contributes to effective budgeting, maintenance, and continuous improvement of field assets, supporting the Operations Manager in maintaining accurate asset registers and driving ongoing improvements in exploration logistics and field processes.
Key Accountabilities
* General:
o Provide strong in-field leadership by planning and managing exploration site operational requirements, with a forward outlook of one (1) to three (3) months, in collaboration with the Operations Manager.
o Deliver regular updates to the Operations Manager through scheduled project meetings and progress reports.
o Contribute effectively to weekly planning meetings, ensuring clear priorities, defined task ownership, and alignment with exploration objectives.
o Uphold and role-model Benz Mining values and behaviours across all remote operations.
o Champion and consistently apply the Benz Safe Method of Work (Plan–Do–Check–Act), utilising tools such as PeopleTray, Planner, and MindManager.
o Ensure high-quality assurance processes and timely delivery across all sampling workflows.
o Oversee operational rosters to maintain adequate, efficient, and balanced resourcing across all active projects.
o Mentor, coach, and empower Field Technicians to build capability, confidence, and future leadership potential.
o Develop realistic operational timelines in collaboration with the responsible manager and Geology leadership team.
o Strengthen team proficiency in the use, care, maintenance, and safe replacement of all field equipment.
o Drive high team performance by holding personnel accountable for standards, behaviours, and deliverables.
* Operations:
o Ensure timely procurement and adequate stock levels of field consumables (sampling materials, PPE, etc.).
o Lead, mentor, and supervise accurate and timely RC, and DD processing activities.
o Coordinate and oversee all on-ground earthworks including track preparation, hole pegging, camp and pad clearing, data collection, and rehabilitation.
o Lead remote camp establishment and demobilisation, ensuring compliance with company standards and regulatory requirements.
* Health Safety and Environment:
o Lead site-based HSE inspections, ensuring hazards are identified, reported, and controlled.
o Provide Mental Health First Aid support where needed.
o Lead site emergency response activities and maintain readiness.
o Conduct RFDS chest awareness training where required.
o Manage and maintain all site emergency response equipment.
o Act as Sched Officer, ensuring accurate tracking of personnel movements and travel.
o Lead Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs) and promote proactive use of Take5s.
o Participate in incident investigations, ensuring corrective actions are implemented.
o Champion People Tray, mentoring others in its effective use for safety and operational reporting.
o Deliver spill response training and promote environmental stewardship on site.
o Re-enforce Benz safe method of work (P-D-C-A) to enable continuous improvement.
o Develop Procedures to cover operational procedures.
* People & Culture:
o Demonstrate strong in-field leadership, promoting a positive, safe, and high-performing team culture.
o Hold team members accountable for safety, performance, and conduct standards.
o Contribute to team performance planning, helping define goals, objectives, and inputs to the annual review process.
o Maintain accurate stakeholder interaction records in People Tray.
o Provide ongoing mentoring, coaching, and training to support career development and operational excellence.

* S26 Statutory Supervisor competency (Essential)
* Hazard and Risk Management – (RIIRIS301E)
* Manual Heavy Rigid Driver's License
* Forklift HRWL
* Occupational First Aid Skill Set (HLTSS00068)
* Hiab Competency (Preferred)
* National Police Clearance
* Loader or Backhoe licence
* Incident Investigation experience
* Project Management experience
* Training and Assessing (Preferred)
* Knowledge and Experience
o Over five (5) years of proven leadership experience in mineral exploration, including supervision of field teams and coordination of exploration activities.
o Strong working knowledge of the Mining Act and associated Regulations, with demonstrated ability to ensure compliance in field operations.
o Extensive hands-on experience across a broad range of exploration methods and environments.
o Significant people leadership and performance management experience, including mentoring, training, and developing field personnel.
o High level of computer proficiency, including MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint; previous experience with GIS software is highly advantageous.
