C.J.L is a family-owned civil construction company specializing in residential subdivision and land development projects.
We are seeking a Civil Project Manager / Estimator to join our team and play a key role in managing projects from tender through to completion, while building strong relationships with clients, consultants and subcontractors.
This is a hands-on role within a growing business where you will work closely with company directors and have the opportunity to take real ownership of projects and contribute to the future growth of the company. You will be expected to manage projects independently and take responsibility for delivery and outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
• Manage subdivision projects from tender through to completion
• Take ownership of project delivery and commercial outcomes
• Develop construction programs and coordinate project sequencing
• Review civil drawings, complete quantity take-offs and identify design queries
• Procure and manage subcontractors and suppliers
• Monitor project costs, forecasting and monthly reporting
• Prepare and negotiate variations and manage contract administration
• Communicate with clients, consultants and stakeholders
• Oversee project quality, safety and technical problem solving
• Prepare tender submissions, complete estimating and obtain subcontractor pricing
• Maintain organized project documentation and communication systems
Our Projects:
• Residential subdivision and land development projects
• Bulk earthworks and site preparation
• Sewer, stormwater and water infrastructure
• Roadworks, pavements, kerb and channel
• Estate infrastructure works
What We're Looking For:
• 6+ years direct experience in civil construction within the subdivision sector
• Ability to interpret civil drawings and specifications
• Experience in project management and estimating
• Proven ability to manage civil projects or major project packages with minimal supervision
• Strong commercial awareness and cost control skills
• Organized with good attention to detail and documentation
• Strong communication with clients, subcontractors and site teams
• Proactive, self-motivated and comfortable taking ownership of projects with minimal supervision
This role would suit a Senior Project Engineer looking to step into a Project Manager position, or an experienced Civil Project Manager seeking a role within a smaller growing business.
