The Cold Works/Assembly Technician is responsible for preparing and finishing chassis supplied by our prep team, and completing key mechanical and electrical assembly tasks.

What you'll be doing
* Preparing chassis and components for painting
* Spray painting (primer and top‑coats)
* Fitting and assembly of axles, wheels, hand brakes, and electric brake components
* Basic 12V wiring for brakes and lighting systems
* Interpreting drawings and working in line with relevant ADR requirements
* Assisting with general workshop and production duties
* Track and report quality inefficiencies to department supervisor
* Maintain cleaning of factory floor and equipment maintenance
* Comply with all Work Health and Safety regulations
What we're looking for
* Experience in mechanical assembly, automotive/trailer work, or general fabrication
* Competent with spray painting equipment and paint preparation
* Basic 12V electrical knowledge (wiring, troubleshooting)
* Understanding of ADRs relating to running gear and towing systems (advantageous)
* Ability to use hand and power tools safely
* Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality workmanship
* Comfortable working both independently and as part of a team
* Effective communication and problem‑solving skills
* Effective time management, punctual and reliable
Desired but not essential:
* Have MIG welding experience in light gauge 1.5mm to 3.0mm RHS steel and aluminium components
* The ability to read and interpret working drawings, schematics and technical manuals
* Ability to tow and maneuver trailers into position
