Locations:
Mobile delivery across inland Northern NSW – Kyogle, Tenterfield, Inverell, Gwydir, Glen Innes & Moree Plains local government areas. Tweed Regional Museum in Murwillumbah during the pre-tour orientation period.

Position Summary
As a Connected Educator you will deliver engaging, curriculum-aligned learning programs, alongside another Educator, for K-6 students as part of the Connected mobile exhibition. This innovative learning project brings the history of communication technologies to public primary schools in rural and remote communities via the Museum on Wheels (MoW) – a restored vintage caravan outfitted as a travelling exhibition space – over 5 weeks of NSW Term ******.
As a Connected Educator you will facilitate interactive, hands-on experiences for K–6 students, support teachers and contribute to the development of educational resources prior to the exhibition tour period. The role involves travel, exhibition set-up, and close collaboration with a second educator who will be travelling with you.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver high-quality, curriculum-linked learning experiences to primary school students (K–6).
Set up and pack down the MoW exhibition at host schools.
Tow and manage the MoW vehicle (training provided if required).
Collaborate with a second educator to ensure smooth delivery of the program.
Engage with school staff and students in a professional and enthusiastic manner.
Assist in the development of pre-visit and post-visit educational resources.
Maintain accurate records including timesheets and feedback.
Ensure the safety and care of exhibition materials and equipment.
Represent the program and Tweed Regional Museum positively and professionally.
Selection Criteria
Essential
Teaching qualification or equivalent experience in education.
Current Working with Children Check and Police Clearance.
Experience working effectively with primary-aged children.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
Willingness to travel and live away from home during the program period.
Physical fitness to manage set-up and pack-down of exhibition materials.
Valid driver's licence and willingness to tow a caravan (training provided).
Willingness to follow relevant Tweed Shire Council policies and procedures.
Desirable
Experience in museum education or outreach programmes.
Familiarity with NSW curriculum.
Learning resource development experience.
First Aid certification.
Conditions of Employment
Hourly Rate: $60/hour + allowances
Allowances: $75 meal allowance per working day
Hours: 35 hours/week (7 hours/day, 5 days/week)
Accommodation & Vehicle: Provided during travel period
Timesheets: Submitted weekly online
