Overview
The Senior Finance Business Partner is the primary finance contact for the Operations division, providing financial support, expert advice, and delivery of accurate and timely budgeting and financial results analyses.
The Financial Planning & Analysis team provides the following services to/on behalf of Council:
* Preparation of the annual budget and budget reviews
* Monthly management reports to business areas and directors
* Financial business partnering
* Legislative and statutory reporting of actual financial results
* Contribute to the development of the Long-Term Financial Plan
About you
Your experience in leading and providing expert advice in the development of budgets and budget reviews, ensuring they reflect the Council’s priorities and strategic objectives and are completed in accordance with relevant finance policies and procedures, will be pivotal to success in this role. You will have a proven track record of providing expert advice on complex or non-standard matters to resolve organisational issues both within the Financial Planning and Analysis team and other budget holders as needed. You will also have a strong commitment to the development and ongoing review of policies and procedures utilised by the Financial Planning and Analysis team.
Key Selection Criteria:
* Extensive knowledge of corporate budgetary and financial planning concepts and applications.
* Extensive knowledge of best practices in the management of operational and capital program budgets.
* Extensive relevant experience at a senior level, preferably within a large organisation, in budget preparation, management and reporting.
* Demonstrated financial analytical skills and an ability to undertake complex data collection and analysis.
* Demonstrated commitment to teamwork and the maintenance of a supportive work environment.
