About
the team
Government Shared Services (GSS) is a new division in DCS that is leading
the way in streamlining processes and transactional shared services to allow
our people to better focus on their customers and delivering their services.
We are developing and delivering a roadmap to leverage
technology, streamline processes, replace legacy systems and deliver a caonsistent
experience to more than 100+ agencies across 8 NSW Government Departments.
What you will do
* As the Team Leader Financial Accounting Operations, you will lead a small team responsible for delivering high-quality financial services across the cluster.
* You will manage day-to-day operations, allocate resources, and monitor service delivery performance to ensure timely and accurate financial outcomes.
* Your responsibilities will include conducting and reviewing complex reconciliations, liaising with auditors, and ensuring month-end and year-end processes are completed effectively.
* You will also provide technical advice, prepare reports and briefs, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives that enhance service delivery and financial data integrity.
This role is pivotal in maintaining strong internal controls, supporting audit readiness, and fostering collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
About You
You are a seasoned supervisor or team leader with demonstrated experience in managing financial operations and leading teams in a complex environment. You bring a strong understanding of financial accounting principles, reconciliation processes, and audit requirements, supported by a degree in finance, and /or extensive practical experience.
You are proactive, detail-oriented, and committed to delivering high-quality outcomes. Your ability to communicate effectively, manage competing priorities, and build strong working relationships enables you to lead your team with confidence and clarity.
You thrive in a collaborative environment, are comfortable navigating change, and are passionate about continuous improvement. Your leadership style fosters engagement, accountability, and a culture of excellence.

Salary Grade 7/8, with the base salary for this role starting
