As a Head of Legal at More Telecom and Tangerine Telecom, you'll join a multi-award-winning company. ABOUT THIS ROLE:

As Head of Legal, you will lead the legal function across the organisation, providing strategic legal advice and operational oversight. Reporting directly to the Chief Legal Officer, you will manage a team of three legal professionals and work closely with senior leadership to ensure legal compliance, mitigate risk, and support business growth. This role is pivotal in shaping legal frameworks, managing complex regulatory matters, and fostering a proactive legal culture.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Lead and mentor a team of legal professionals, fostering a high-performance and collaborative culture.

Provide strategic legal advice to the executive team on corporate, commercial, and regulatory matters.

Oversee the drafting, negotiation, and review of high-value contracts, including vendor, partnership, and customer agreements.

Ensure compliance with telecommunications, privacy, consumer, and employment laws.

Support M&A activity, corporate governance, and board reporting as required.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., Risk, Product, Marketing) to embed legal risk management into business processes.

Represent the organisation in regulatory investigations and manage external counsel relationships.

Drive continuous improvement in legal operations, including document management, contract lifecycle, and legal tech adoption.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Experience

Minimum 8–10 years post-qualification legal experience, ideally with a blend of top-tier private practice and in-house roles.

Proven leadership experience managing legal teams, including performance development and team structuring.

Demonstrated experience advising senior executives and boards on complex legal and regulatory matters.

Strong track record in commercial contract negotiation, corporate governance, and risk management.

Experience working in or advising highly regulated industries (e.g., telecommunications, technology, financial services) is highly desirable.

Skills

Strategic thinking with the ability to align legal advice to business objectives.

Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, including the ability to influence at executive level.

Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, particularly in high-pressure or ambiguous situations.

Ability to manage competing priorities and deliver outcomes in a fast-paced environment.

Proficiency in legal operations, including contract lifecycle management and legal technology tools.
