Growing our small HR Team from 2 to 3 people, you will truly be involved in a wide variety of tasks across the full range of HR accountabilities, making a meaningful impact every day.
About the role:
We are seeking a proactive, people-focused Senior HR Advisor to join our growing team in this newly created role. This is a pivotal position, reporting to the Human Resources Manager, you’ll act as a trusted consultant to managers and employees alike, delivering expert guidance and hands-on support across the full range of complex HR matters—from employee relations to organisational change projects.
You’ll play a key role in bridging the strategic and operational aspects of HR, helping to embed best practices, ensure compliance and build workforce capability across the organisation.
The key focus areas of leadership at CMAX include:
Support our line managers on a wide range of employee relations matters including Award interpretation, performance issues, grievances, conflict resolution, and disciplinary actions;
Interpret, apply and develop HR policies and procedures to ensure consistency and compliance;
Support end-to-end recruitment activities—from job brief to onboarding;
Support workforce and succession planning, talent management and engagement initiatives;
Drive HR project delivery such as employee engagement, wellbeing programs and change initiatives;
Coach line managers to build their confidence and capability in people leadership;
Maintain and utilise HR systems to report on key metrics and provide data-led insights;
Champion continuous improvement across HR processes and practices.
About you:
5+ years’ experience in a HR Advisory role, ideally within a mid-to-large organisation;
Degree-qualified in HR, Business or related discipline (HR certification or equivalent experience highly regarded);
Strong working knowledge of employment legislation and HR best practice;
Confident interpreting Modern Awards and the Fair Work Act—experience in the Healthcare industry is desirable but not essential;
Proven ability to work independently and manage complex casework and conflicting priorities with professionalism;
Strong interpersonal and influencing skills, with a track record of building trusted relationships;
Comfortable delivering training and facilitating HR-related conversations across the business;
Ideal candidates will be available to work either part time (4 days per week) or fulltime hours onsite, occasional work from home flexibility is offered.
