Your new role
As the Mechanical Engineer - Governance & Technical Stewardship, you will work closely with the Principal Engineer and support statutory MEM responsibilities. Key duties include:
* Championing Management of Change (MoC) and G&TS pre-reviews
* Reviewing mechanical documents at site and asset levels
* Administering and reviewing Intelics mechanical registers
* Providing mechanical design and drawing reviews
* Offering technical guidance aligned with standards and procedures
* Supporting RS23 stage 3 WRACs and reviews
* Acting as risk control owner for dropped objects and stored energy release
* Supporting MEM with dossier reviews, incident investigations, and permit sign-offs
* Attending risk assessments and providing mechanical support
* Participating in BOS processes, field leadership, and hazard identification
* Engaging in crew safe start meetings and problem-solving initiatives
What you'll need to succeed
* Tertiary qualification in Mechanical Engineering (university or trade)
* Minimum 5 years' experience in mining
* Proficiency in SAP Work Management, Fiori, BHP MoC, D2, Meridian, FLEX, MS Suite, and GRC
* Ability and willingness to work underground
* Eligibility for supervisor appointment
* Prior coal mining experience (underground preferred)
* Experience in maintenance and engineering
