About the Role PLC Sydney is seeking a dedicated and passionate Music Teacher & Band Director to join the dynamic and highly-regarded Music Department.
This is a full time, permanent position with a dual focus on classroom music teaching and leadership of school bands.
Primary focus: teaching classroom music Secondary responsibility: directing and developing school bands Key Responsibilities Implement and adapt best practice teaching strategies to meet diverse student needs Provide a high level of pastoral care to support students' personal and academic growth Conduct and rehearse a variety of concert and jazz bands for students across the school Create innovative music programs that encourage experiential learning and reinforce the College's philosophy The Ideal Candidate We are looking for an experienced educator who is passionate about both classroom teaching and band direction.
The successful candidate will teach across both the Junior and Senior Schools and across all courses.
To be successful in this role, you will have: Proven experience in conducting and rehearsing school bands Expertise in woodwind and brass instruments Ability to build strong rapport and positive relationships with students Specialised music education training (Orff, Kodály or Dalcroze) is highly regarded Experience with music technology is also highly regarded Recent graduates are encouraged to apply.
Requirements You will need to provide a current Working With Children Check Clearance Number and your NESA status and accreditation dates.
You will be required to support the Christian ethos of the College.
