Job Description
We are seeking a Behaviour Support Practitioner to join our team of dedicated professionals. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality support services to individuals with disabilities.
The successful candidate will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work collaboratively with families and carers. You will have a strong understanding of positive behaviour support principles and a commitment to person-centred planning.
Key responsibilities include:
* Assisting participants, their families, and/or carers in identifying needs through assessment and person-centred planning
* Evaluating, developing, and delivering evidence-based support plans within complex support spaces
* Developing meaningful goals and practical strategies utilising a positive behaviour support framework, with a commitment to eliminating restrictive practices
* Ensuring individual plans reflect participants' goals, passions, and strengths, and that they gain more from life
* Building the knowledge, capacity, and strengths of those who support participants – family, carers, friends, etc.
* Acting as an advocate and role model for best practice
* Working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
Required Skills and Qualifications
To be considered suitable, you will have:
* Current suitability confirmed by the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission
* A degree-level qualification as an allied health professional
* Report writing experience
* Demonstrated experience working with challenging behaviours
* Excellent time management and organisational skills to manage a varied caseload
* A proactive attitude, motivated by improvement and the opportunity to test and learn from new ideas
* Genuine passion for working in the disability sector
