About the role
This is a casual position (3 days/week) based at our Respite Centre in Winnellie, NT. The hours are 08:30-16:30, with no evening, overnight, or weekend work required.
Reporting directly to the Team Leader Client Services, you will be responsible for:
1. Coordinating and facilitating recreational activities for people living with dementia and providing opportunities for involvement to maintain their skills and abilities and promote personal choice
2. Assisting in the development of individual support plans where appropriate and maintaining an up-to-date understanding of the person's wellbeing needs
3. Ensuring that client activity and other appropriate information is documented in line with professional and legal standards

About you
To be successful in this role, we are looking for someone with the following:
* Previous experience in a similar role within a community or respite service.
* Experience planning and facilitating age-appropriate activities and games based on the interests of participants.
* Certificate III or higher in Individual Support or relevant discipline.
* Demonstrated experience and understanding of the impacts of dementia for individuals, carers, and their support networks.
* Embraces individual and cultural differences through genuine, courteous behaviors.
* Fosters teamwork by working together and cooperatively.
* Uses effective time management skills to plan, evaluate, and organize work.
* Communicates clearly and openly with different audiences.
* Provides service excellence by delivering client-focused services.
* Valid full driver's license required.
