The team
The Civil Litigation team leads ASIC's litigation practice, acting as solicitor on the record in regulatory civil litigation in the High Court, Federal Court and State Supreme Courts. The team also oversees external law firms and provides strategic guidance on significant matters.
The Administrate Law team is responsible for conducting Administrative Review Tribunal proceedings and Federal Court judicial review proceedings in respect of administrative decisions made by ASIC.
The two teams sit within Enforcement Legal Services, part of ASIC's broader Legal Services group led by the General Counsel. Legal Services delivers legal support across ASIC and includes Enforcement, Regulatory, Corporate Legal Services, the Hearing Delegates Panel and Legal Operations.
The role
Paralegals Provide Support For Our Legal Work, Including
compilation of court and Tribunal documents and other evidencecompilation of briefs of evidencecollection and review of documentsconducting legal researchdrafting of affidavits and other court and Tribunal documents.
About You
We are looking for someone who has, or is completing, a tertiary qualification in law.
You will need strong prioritisation and communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively as part of a Team.
Good attention to detail, strong problem-solving skills and the ability to analyse critical issues and consider suitable solutions are essential.
