About the role
The Senior Climate Accounting and Reporting Officer sits within the Finance team and leads the development and delivery of climate-related financial disclosures, policies, frameworks, and procedures. The role ensures compliance with Australian Sustainability Reporting Standards, NSW Treasury policies, and other relevant statutory requirements.
5. Collaborate with stakeholders to prepare and deliver climate-related financial disclosures in accordance with relevant policies and standards
6. Coordinate external audits and resolve related issues
7. Develop and maintain policies, frameworks, and controls for climate data
8. Analyse data to provide advice supporting strategy and decision-making
9. Drive development and implementation of strategies, plans and tools to improve systems, reporting, and awareness

About you
10. Knowledge of NSW climate-related financial standards and frameworks
11. Awareness of climate legislation, policies, and government strategies
12. Ability to coordinate climate financial activities across teams
13. Skill in analysing data to deliver insights for decision-makers
14. Experience producing high-quality, compliant reports
15. Knowledge of and commitment to implementing the Department's Aboriginal Education Policy and upholding the Department's Partnership Agreement with the NSW AECG and to ensure quality outcomes for Aboriginal people.
Essential requirements of the role
16. Tertiary qualification in accounting, finance, climate science, risk, economics, law, business, or related field, or equivalent relevant workplace experience
17. Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to the value of public education.
