About the Role
Be a positive role model to our participants in a supportive and caring environment, building a relationship based on HYPAR's core values. Be compassionate, patient and understanding, supporting our participants to meet their goals.
A day in the role of our Support Workers/Mentors will include:
* Working autonomously to provide support to our participants to help maintain and improve their level of independence. This may include community participation, skill building and relationship building to name a few
* Planning, assisting and engaging in suitable activities with our participants
* Encourage our participants to make healthy lifestyle choices and access health care services
* Engage in domestic duties such as, but not limited to; house cleaning, laundry, cooking meals, budgeting, shopping etc
* Providing mental health support work within a therapeutic framework to deliver quality care
* Complete case notes per shift, administration tasks and incident reports
Positions are available on the Sunshine Coast.
About You
The ideal candidate will have:
* Exceptional emotional intelligence, demonstrating initiative and flexibility and be able to build strong relationships with our participants
* Desire to be a part of a dedicated team that also share the same focus-driven outcomes
* The ability to maintain professionalism in high-pressure situations
* Strong professional boundaries
* Excellent communication skills – both written and verbal and are proficient in the use of smart phones/computers.
* The drive to do meaningful work that improves the lives of our participants
* Ability to work a flexible roster, available across morning, evening and weekend shifts.
You will also be required to have or be willing to obtain:
* Disability Support Work or industry relevant experience - Highly Regarded
* A current 10-year traffic history report
* Paid Blue Card
* Paid NDIS Disability Worker Screening (or valid yellow card)
* Child Safety background screening check (LCS2)
* Have access to a registered vehicle and full comprehensive insurance
* Open QLD Drivers Licence (International and P-Plate Licences will not be accepted)
* A working android or apple smartphone
