About the Role
We are seeking a skilled
Development Engineer
to join our team in Coburg for a short term, 3 day a week opportunity. This role involves providing expert advice and support on engineering matters within a local government context, ensuring compliance with planning schemes and delivering high-quality outcomes for the community.
Key Responsibilities
Assess and provide advice on development applications in line with the Planning Scheme.
Manage engineering aspects of planning and development projects.
Liaise with internal teams, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure compliance with standards and regulations.
Apply sound risk management and ensure adherence to Occupational Health and Safety requirements.
Contribute to project planning, budgeting, and scheduling within approved frameworks.
Skills & Experience
Eligible to be a Registered Professional Engineer in Victoria (RPEV).
Qualification in Civil Engineering (or equivalent).
Knowledge of Planning Scheme requirements and local government processes.
Demonstrated management skills and ability to prioritise workloads.
Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
Proficiency in relevant software and systems.
Working with Children Check (mandatory).
Previous local government experience in engineering highly desirable.
