About the RoleWe are seeking a Social Media & Content Manager to lead GAC’s social and content strategy in the Australian market.This role is responsible for defining how GAC shows up across social platforms—shaping brand voice, driving engagement, supporting product launches, and building strong cultural relevance with Australian audiences. You will combine strategic planning, creative leadership, and hands-on execution, working closely with internal stakeholders, external partners, and regional HQ teams.As the market grows, this role will play a key part in building scalable content frameworks and may evolve to manage internal or agency resources.
What You’ll Be DoingSocial Media Strategy & LeadershipOwn and lead GAC’s social media strategy across Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, Facebook, YouTube, and RedNote (Xiaohongshu).Define channel roles, content pillars, tone of voice, and posting cadence aligned with brand and business objectives.Ensure consistency and alignment with global brand guidelines while tailoring content for local market relevance.Content & Creative DirectionLead the creation of high-quality, social-first content including short-form video, reels, carousels, static posts, and captions.Provide creative direction for vehicle storytelling, brand campaigns, and always-on content.Maintain a strong understanding of cultural trends, platform algorithms, and emerging content formats.Video & Short-Form ContentOversee the filming, editing, and publishing of short-form video content across social platforms.Set quality standards and best practices for video production, editing, and storytelling.Campaigns, Launches & GTM SupportLead social and content execution for vehicle launches, brand campaigns, retail initiatives, and dealer activations.Collaborate with Marketing, Sales, PR, and Dealer teams to ensure integrated and effective go-to-market execution.Develop toolkits and content guidelines to support dealer and partner channels.Community Management & Brand EngagementOversee community engagement across platforms, ensuring timely and on-brand responses.Manage brand reputation and escalate issues where required.Performance, Insights & OptimizationTrack, analyze, and report on social and content performance across platforms.Translate insights into actionable recommendations to optimize creative, formats, and channel strategy.Use data to inform future campaigns, content planning, and investment decisions.Stakeholder & Agency ManagementWork closely with internal stakeholders locally and regionally, including HQ teams.Manage external agencies, creators, or production partners as required.Support the development of scalable processes as the team and market grow.
What We’re Looking For5+ years’ experience in social media, content, or digital marketing, with at least some experience at a senior or managerial level (OEM Experience Strongly Preferred but not mandatory)Proven experience leading social media strategy and content planning for a brand or market.Strong hands-on experience with short-form video creation and an excellent understanding of platform best practices.Experience working with tools such as CapCut, Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, After Effects, or similar.Excellent written communication skills with a strong eye for visual and narrative storytelling.Experience collaborating across teams and managing external partners or agencies.Highly organized, adaptable, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, growth-stage environment.Automotive, lifestyle, tech, or consumer brand experience is a plus (but not essential).
