Responsibilities Provide psychological services including evidence-based assessments and therapeutic interventions to patients of the Allied Health Metabolic Clinic at Launceston General Hospital, including inpatient and outpatient services (excluding Mental Health Services).
Work with Nutrition & Dietetics and other psychologists to support consumers in decision-making for bariatric surgery.Assess readiness for bariatric surgery and deliver individual or group interventions to support patients in decisions regarding their metabolic journey.Collaborate as part of the Hospitals North Allied Health Psychology Team, contributing to a culture aligned with CARE values (Compassion, Accountability, Respect and Excellence).
Qualifications and Eligibility Tertiary qualification/program of study approved by the Psychology Board of Australia.Registered with the Psychology Board of Australia.Area of Practice Endorsement where required (e.g., Health Psychology, Clinical Psychology, Clinical Neuropsychology, etc.).
Registration/licences must remain current and valid at all times.
Desirable Criteria Significant experience in complex medical environments providing psychological services for metabolic/bariatric patients.Endorsement by the Psychology Board of Australia as a Health Psychologist, Clinical Psychologist or Clinical Neuropsychologist.Postgraduate degree in Health Psychology, Clinical Psychology or Clinical Neuropsychology.
