Overview
This role supports the delivery of physical and outdoor education programmes, contributing to academic success and holistic development. The classroom teacher will plan, prepare, and teach lessons; mentor colleagues; and participate in school improvement initiatives.
Responsibilities
* Plan, prepare and deliver engaging curriculum for Physical and Outdoor Education to meet student outcomes.
* Implement high‑impact teaching strategies and evaluate their effectiveness.
* Use student data to inform instruction, provide feedback to students and parents, and support learning growth.
* Mentor or coach other teachers, sharing best practice and supporting professional development.
* Supervise and train student teachers as required.
* Participate in parent‑teacher meetings, staff meetings, camps, excursions and other school events.
* Undertake additional duties assigned by the Principal, including non‑teaching supervisory responsibilities.
Selection Criteria
* SC1: Demonstrated knowledge of the relevant curriculum and the ability to integrate literacy and numeracy skills; experience responding to diverse learning needs.
* SC2: Experience planning and implementing high‑impact teaching strategies guided by learner profiles and evaluating their impact on student growth.
* SC3: Experience monitoring and assessing learning using data to inform practice and communicating progress to students and parents.
* SC4: Interpersonal and communication skills with a record of establishing collaborative relationships with students, parents, colleagues and the wider community.
* SC5: Consistent behaviours and attitudes aligned with Department values; evidence of reflective practice and engagement in continual professional learning.
Qualification Requirements
* Provisional or full registration approved by the Victorian Institute of Teaching.
* If completed a postgraduate level initial teaching program or course of study on or after 1 January, demonstrate successful completion of an accredited initial teacher education programme (as per the standards of the Australian Institute for Teaching and School Leadership).
* Graduated from a Victorian Initial Teacher Education (ITE) program after 1 July and passed the literacy and numeracy test for initial teacher education (LANTITE), or the LANTITE requirement was part of the ITE program.

Teachers currently registered or eligible for registration with the Victorian Institute of Teaching and qualified to teach the specified curriculum area.
