Conservation Ecologist Role
We are seeking a Senior Ecologist to join our team, with expertise in Victorian flora and fauna species identification, threatened species, and ecological communities. The ideal candidate will have strong working knowledge of Victorian planning and environmental legislation, as well as Commonwealth environmental legislation.
The successful applicant will be responsible for delivering innovative environmental management and conservation solutions to clients, leading high-quality assessments, and planning and managing field surveys, stakeholder engagement, and client relationships.

Key Responsibilities:
* Technical Expertise: Providing guidance and mentorship to junior ecologists.
* Innovative Solutions: Delivering environmental management and conservation solutions to clients.
* Assessment Leadership: Leading high-quality assessments.
* Field Survey Management: Planning and managing field surveys, stakeholder engagement, and client relationships.
Requirements:
* Tertiary Qualifications: In Ecology or related discipline.
* Experience: Minimum 8 to 10 years' ecological experience (with some in Victoria).
* Expertise: Strong knowledge of Victorian flora and/or fauna species identification, threatened species, and ecological communities.
* Legislation Knowledge: Working knowledge of Victorian planning and environmental legislation, as well as Commonwealth environmental legislation.
* Project Management: Demonstrated high-level experience in project and budget management.
* Business Development: Previous consulting and business development experience (minimum 5 years).
* VQA Accreditation: VQA accreditation (desirable), or the ability to obtain this.
* Stakeholder Liaison: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience producing high-quality reports and assessments.
