We are looking for a passionate and experienced Assistant Director or Director of Urban Design to support the growth of our Urban Design Practice in Sydney. GHD Design is a leading Australian architectural practice, operating internationally through the GHD network of studios and offices. This role combines leadership, commercial acumen, client relationship management and technical ability to support growth.
Responsibilities
* Help lead and grow the Urban Design Practice for multi-disciplinary placemaking and infrastructure projects.
* Integrate urban design thinking, theory, and practice into multi-disciplinary projects, collaborating closely with Project Managers, Architects and Design Leads.
* Manage and be accountable for urban design deliverables across infrastructure and design projects.
* Provide technical leadership and mentorship to developing urban design practitioners in New South Wales and across the broader APAC business.
* Develop and enhance client relationships and lead strategic pursuits and proposals.
* Grow sustainability-focused business by identifying opportunities and packaging GHD's services to meet client needs in urban planning and design.
Qualifications
* A Bachelor's degree in Architecture and Urban Design, or related field, with 10+ years of experience.
* Extensive experience delivering urban design projects and an established industry and client network – particularly within New South Wales.
* Ability to develop business opportunities through trusted client relationships and winning repeat work.
* Demonstrated track record in team leadership, project management, and delivering urban design and sustainability components of major projects.
