Position Summary
This is a permanent part-time (0.6 FTE) position commencing Term 1, ****. Campbell Primary School (PS) is seeking an enthusiastic and hardworking Gardener-Handyperson to join our team.
Responsibilities
Present school grounds in a clean, attractive and tidy condition; make improvements to ensure a safe and clean environment.
Complete minor repairs and maintenance jobs in accordance with Department's policies and guidelines.
Provide a suitable growing environment for both soft and hard landscaping, including turf management.
Maintain tools and horticultural equipment in a serviceable condition.
Advise and support the Manager Corporate Service on school–grounds maintenance.
Eligibility & Qualifications
Knowledge of gardening methods and procedures, including safe use and storage of equipment, materials and chemicals.
Experience in maintaining grounds and gardens, including turf management.
Experience in minor servicing of horticultural/gardening equipment and minor repairs/maintenance tasks.
Strong work ethic, reliability, proactive approach to tasks and willingness to undertake professional learning and share skills.
Valid Working With Children Check.
Consent to a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check and obtain a current Screening Clearance Number issued by the Department of Education's Screening Unit before start.
Australian or New Zealand citizen, permanent resident or valid visa with relevant work rights for the term of the appointment.
